BUXAR----------------------The ongoing administrative dispute between the Block Development Officer (BDO) and the Rural Development Officer (RDO) at the Rajpur Block office has taken a dramatic turn. Demanding the payment of her pending salary for the last eight months, RDO Kanishka Singh sat on a protest holding a bowl inside the block office premises.

Her unusual protest, symbolic of financial distress, has become a major talking point across the block development office.

RDO Kanishka Singh stated that during her 11 years of service, she had never faced such a situation. However, her salary for the last eight months remains unpaid, causing severe financial hardship.

She mentioned that on October 12, she emailed the Secretary of the Rural Development Department requesting salary clearance and the allotment of official work. Having received no response or resolution, she was forced to resort to a sit-in protest with a bowl in hand.

The RDO previously accused BDO Sonu Kumar of mental harassment, abusive behavior, and withholding official facilities. She has also sent representations to the District Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), District Development Commissioner (DDC), and Rural Development Secretary regarding show-cause notices issued to her, alleged unparliamentary language, and the removal of her attendance from the biometric system.

Refuting the charges, Block Development Officer (BDO) Sonu Kumar stated: "The allegations leveled against me are baseless. A proposal regarding salary payment has already been forwarded to higher authorities."
