ARA---------------------------A series of vibrant cultural programs was organized today on the premises of BS DAV to celebrate Diwali, Bhai-Duj, and the upcoming festival of Chhath. Hundreds of students from grades four through seven delivered exceptional performances.

Addressing the children at the start of the event, Principal Nupur Thakur emphasized the profound significance of festivals in our lives. She noted that these celebrations not only strengthen our unity, affection, and sense of brotherhood but also infuse our lives with joy and enthusiasm. Our school provides students with an excellent platform to express their folk art, culture, and traditions. Beyond the confines of the classroom and the curriculum, such activities play a vital role in the mental, physical, and intellectual growth of the students.

The school campus was beautifully decorated for the stage performances. The sequence of presentations centered on Diwali, Bhai-Duj, and Chhath—accompanied by the lively chatter of the children—filled the atmosphere with excitement. To mark Diwali, students performed captivating dances while lighting lamps and sparklers. For Bhai-Duj, the girls performed the 'Godhan Kutna' ritual—a symbolic act representing prayers for their brothers' well-being. They also performed enchanting dances to traditional folk songs, such as "Avra Kutile-Bhavra Kutile, Kutile Jamh ke Duar." The highlight of the event was the segment dedicated to Chhath—a grand festival rooted in folk faith and a deep reverence for nature. Through their performances, the students depicted the entire sequence of rituals—from 'Nahay-Khay' to the offering of 'Arghya' to the Sun God at the riverbank—accompanied by traditional songs. This created an atmosphere of deep reverence and devotion on the campus, leaving everyone truly moved.

Key participants who drew the audience's attention with their collective performances included Abhiraj Singh, Hemant Sharma, Roshan Kumar, Lakshya Samyak, Anshu, Bal Krishna, Rudra Kumar Singh, Yash Raj, Sarthak Singh, Naansh Raj, Vihan, Ankush Kumar, Prisha, Divyanshi, Shivani, Shraddha, Mahi Raj, Ananya, Shruti, Swikriti, Aradhya, Vandana, Soumya Kumari, Amrita Kumari, Pihu Anand, Pari Anand, Aradhya Priyadarshi, Stuti Patel, Anishka, Kanak Anand, Shanvi Prasad, Karuna, and Angel.
