2498 OF 2996 SCHOOLS LACK LAND

PATNA--------------------------A recent survey by the Education Department has revealed that out of 2,996 buildingless government schools in the state, 2,498 schools do not own land to construct their own buildings. Only 498 buildingless schools currently have land available.

To address this crisis, the Education Department has initiated a special drive titled 'Kaya Kalp Abhiyan' (Transformation Drive) and instructed District Magistrates (DMs) across all districts to identify suitable land by the end of next month.

·       Total Buildingless Schools in State: 2,996

·       Schools with Available Land: 498

·       Landless Schools: 2,498

·       Land Requirement for Primary & Middle Schools: 10 to 50 Dismil

·       Land Requirement for Secondary & Higher Secondary Schools: 75 Dismil to 1 Acre

·       Deadline for Land Identification: End of next month

District administrations will launch extensive village-by-village surveys to identify suitable government or donated land for school construction.

·       Three Categories of Land for Construction:

Can be utilized after obtaining an No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the concerned Gram Panchayat.

Can be directly allotted by the District Magistrate acting as the competent authority under revenue rules.

Land received via voluntary donations from local residents.

Progress on land acquisition under the 'Kaya Kalp Abhiyan' will be continuously monitored starting next week. DMs have been instructed to coordinate closely with Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs), Circle Officers (COs), Block Education Officers (BEOs), and District Education Officers (DEOs) to complete the acquisition process seamlessly.
