PATNA---------------------------Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has urged the Union Government to expedite final clearances for four key road and expressway projects in the state, together estimated to cost ₹49,751 crore.
During a high-level meeting in New Delhi with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, the Chief Minister requested immediate approval from the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), where the projects are currently awaiting final sanction.
The Chief Minister urged the Centre to formally notify the Bihar stretches of the Gorakhpur–Siliguri Expressway as a National Expressway and fast-track clearance for the Raxaul–Haldia Expressway, emphasizing their strategic role in trade with Nepal and direct port connectivity to Haldia.
A request was made to accelerate the 4-laning of the Muzaffarpur–Barauni section of NH-122.
Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for six additional National Highway projects covering 323 km—valued at ₹13,015 crore—have been submitted to the Centre, including the approach road for the Vikramshila Bridge and the widening of the Mashrakh–Chakiya–Bhithamore corridor.
