ARA--------------------------The police have arrested a man—the father-in-law of the victim—who had been absconding in connection with the murder of his son-in-law within the jurisdiction of the Piro police station in Bhojpur district. The accused was apprehended in Bamhwar village, which falls under the same police station area. The arrested individual, Sohan Pasi, is the son of Paras Pasi and a resident of Bamhwar village. This information was shared by Superintendent of Police Awadhesh Dixit via a press release.

It is worth noting that on July 15, Rajan Pasi—a resident of Nawanagar village (under the Nawanagar police station in Buxar district)—had arrived in Bamhwar village to visit his wife, Khushbu Kumari, at his in-laws' home.

During this visit, following a dispute, his wife, Khushbu Kumari, and other members of her family allegedly beat him with iron rods and sticks. Rajan Pasi sustained severe injuries and subsequently died. Following the murder, his body was dumped in a local irrigation channel (*ahar*). On July 16, his body was recovered from a canal in Bamhwar.

A First Information Report (FIR) was registered at the Piro police station based on the statement of the deceased's father, Shiv Prasad Pasi. The FIR named the victim's wife, Khushbu Kumari, his father-in-law, Sohan Pasi, and other members of the in-laws' family as accused.

The FIR alleges that Rajan Pasi was beaten to death with iron rods and sticks, after which his body was disposed of in the irrigation channel.

Sohan Pasi had been absconding since the FIR was registered. The police had been conducting continuous raids at various suspected locations to apprehend him.

Acting on a tip-off, the police received information that he was present in Bamhwar village. A police team took swift action and successfully arrested him.

Previously, the police had already arrested the victim's wife, Khushbu Kumari, and his mother-in-law in connection with the case, and both have been sent to jail. Following the arrest of the father-in-law, Sohan Pasi—who had been absconding—the police are now proceeding with further legal action in the case.
