BHARAT TAXI SERVICE SOON IN BIHAR

PATNA--------------------------Passengers in Bihar will soon have a new and convenient alternative for booking taxis and auto-rickshaws as the state government prepares to launch the 'Bharat Taxi' service. In its first phase, the service is planned to be rolled out across four major districts: Patna, Gaya, Vaishali, and Muzaffarpur.

Unlike traditional ride-aggregator apps, Bharat Taxi operates on a cooperative model where drivers are not just service providers, but can also become members, partners, and stakeholders in the cooperative society.

Participating drivers benefit from relief on per-ride commission deductions, allowing them to keep a larger share of their earnings by paying a nominal daily fee instead.

The app will provide transparent fare information, vehicle availability tracking, and dedicated safety features to ensure a secure commuting experience for all passengers, particularly women.

Review meetings—chaired by Transport Secretary Raj Kumar—have focused on vehicle and driver registrations, permit compliance, and IT platform integrations. The customer app testing has already been successfully completed, with over 2,000 local drivers registered so far.

The introduction of Bharat Taxi is expected to offer competitive, transparent pricing for commuters while empowering local auto and cab drivers with a digital platform.
