ARA------------------------Even after 24 hours, no trace could be found of the two innocent children who drowned in the Banas river in front of Shanti Nagar in Garhani police station area of Bhojpur district on Saturday. On the second day on Sunday, the SDRF team conducted a search operation in the river, but the team did not get success till late evening. There is a mourning silence among the families of the children after their disappearance in the river. The family members are in bad condition and crying.

The missing children have been identified as Himanshu Kumar, seven-year-old son of Chandan Keshari, resident of Shanti Nagar, Ward No. 2 of Nagar Panchayat Gadhani, and Monu Kumar, 10-year-old son of Ravindra Keshari alias Maini. Both the children had gone to bathe in the Banas river with their other friends on Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, both of them were washed away due to the strong current of water.

According to the information received, at around 3 pm on Saturday afternoon, six children had gone to take bath in the Banas river in front of Shanti Nagar. While bathing, suddenly the flow of the river increased. It is said that Himanshu Kumar and Monu Kumar were swept away in the strong current, while other children were taken out safely with the help of local people.

After receiving information about the incident, the SDRF team and local villagers started searching in the river at around 6 pm on Saturday evening. The team searched the areas and possible places around the river.

On Sunday, SDRF team conducted a search operation in the river from Shanti Nagar to Bhendri with the help of boat. The children were searched in the main stream of the river as well as on the banks, but the team did not get any success.

According to local people, the flow of water in Banas river is very fast. For this reason the SDRF team is facing problems in the search operation.

People feared that the two children might have gone far away from the spot after being swept away by the strong current. Due to the high flow of the river, the team has to be constantly cautious during the search.

Since the disappearance of both the children, their family members have been continuously standing near the river bank and the spot. The eyes of the family members are filled with tears waiting for their children.

The parents and other family members are in a bad condition, crying. The family members are expecting the SDRF team to trace the children soon. After the incident, there is an atmosphere of mourning and worry in Shanti Nagar also.

Along with the SDRF team, local villagers are also searching the river banks and surrounding areas. The villagers have kept an eye on the flow of the river and possible nearby places.

Local people say that there is a need to stop children from bathing in the river and make security arrangements at dangerous places. The villagers have demanded the administration to install warning boards and security arrangements on the river banks.

The search for the children is continuing by the administration and SDRF team. The team is conducting search operations in different parts of the river. Search is being done in the river with the help of boat under the supervision of officials.

At present, as no trace of the two innocents has been found, the concern of the family members and the local people is increasing. The administration has said that the campaign will be continued further.
