ARA----------------------------The Bhojpur district administration is on high alert to ensure that the grand festival of Chhath—a celebration of deep public faith—is conducted in a peaceful, safe, and harmonious environment. As part of these efforts, District Magistrate Manesh Kumar Meena and Superintendent of Police Awadhesh Dixit jointly inspected the renowned Belaur Sun Temple and the associated Chhath Ghat, located within the jurisdiction of the Udwantnagar police station, on Saturday. During the visit, the officials reviewed arrangements for security, cleanliness, lighting, barricading, and traffic management, issuing several necessary directives to the concerned officers. The district administration has intensified preparations for the upcoming Chhath festival. On Saturday, October 31, DM Manesh Kumar Meena and SP Awadhesh Dixit arrived at the Belaur Sun Temple to conduct a thorough inspection of the Chhath Ghat. They assessed the cleanliness of the site, the adequacy of lighting, the accessibility of routes for devotees, the placement of barricades, and the overall traffic management plan. The officials specifically instructed that hazardous or deep-water areas be clearly marked with safety signs; they also emphasized the need for effective crowd control and the smooth movement of vehicles. Furthermore, given the expected influx of devotees, it was directed that sufficient police personnel be deployed, regular patrols be conducted, and special surveillance be maintained in sensitive areas to prevent any untoward incidents. Following the inspection, the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police engaged in a dialogue with members of the Sun Temple committee and local residents, listening carefully to their concerns and suggestions. Relevant officials were instructed to address these issues promptly and ensure that all preparations are completed well in advance of the Chhath festival. The Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Sadar-01), the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic), the Station House Officer (SHO) of Udwantnagar, and other relevant officials and police personnel were present on the occasion. Currently, the district administration’s primary focus is on ensuring the safety, convenience, and smooth movement of devotees during the Chhath festival, so that this significant celebration of public faith can take place in a peaceful and secure environment.
