ARA----------------------RK Sinha, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), former Rajya Sabha MP, and founder of the prominent security services company SIS (Security and Intelligence Services), passed away on Friday. He breathed his last at his residence in Delhi. He had been unwell for a long time and had also suffered a brain stroke some time ago.
According to reports, RK Sinha suffered a brain stroke on January 17, following which he underwent surgery. During his treatment, he remained under the care of specialist doctors. While his family had been providing regular updates on his recovery, he ultimately passed away on Friday.
RK Sinha—whose full name was Ravindra Kishore Sinha—was born on September 22, 1951, in Bahiyara village, located in the Bhojpur district of Bihar. After completing his early education, he entered the field of journalism, where he made a name for himself by reporting on the 1971 India-Pakistan war.
After leaving journalism, and inspired by Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan, he founded 'Security and Intelligence Services' (SIS) in 1974, starting from a small garage in Patna. The company was initially built by providing employment to ex-servicemen. Over time, it grew into one of the country's leading private security agencies and expanded its operations internationally.
Today, SIS provides security services in India and several other countries, including Australia and New Zealand. Having started from humble beginnings, the company evolved into a major corporate entity that provides employment to hundreds of thousands of people.
RK Sinha was one of the founding members of the Bharatiya Janata Party and maintained a deep association with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Following his active involvement in organizational and social work, the BJP nominated him to the Rajya Sabha. His contributions to both the political and business spheres will be remembered for a long time to come. The passing of R.K. Sinha has sent a wave of grief across the political, industrial, and social spheres. His supporters and well-wishers remember him as a successful entrepreneur, journalist, and public servant.
