ARA-------------------------The police claim to have solved the murder case of Mohit Raj, a resident of Durgapur village under the jurisdiction of the Tarari police station in Bhojpur district. The police have arrested the victim's mother, Manti Devi, in connection with the case. According to the police, Manti Devi was involved in a romantic relationship with a man from the same village named Santosh Kumar. Mohit Raj opposed this relationship, which frequently led to disputes at home.

The police allege that, due to these ongoing conflicts, Manti Devi’s lover, Santosh Kumar, along with some accomplices, murdered Mohit Raj at her behest. An FIR has been registered based on the statement provided by the victim's father, Satyendra Singh (alias Algu). The FIR names Santosh Kumar—son of Budhan Singh, a resident of Durgapur village—as an accused, alongside two to three unidentified individuals.

On the evening of October 27, Mohit Raj had gone to an ATM in Karth village (under the Tarari police station area) to withdraw money. During this time, the accused assaulted him. According to the police, Mohit Raj died as a result of the beating.

The following morning, on October 28, his body was discovered near 'Birhar Karha' in Karth village. The discovery of the body caused a stir in the area. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene, took custody of the body, and initiated an investigation.

An FIR was registered at the Tarari police station based on the statement of the victim's father, Satyendra Singh (alias Algu). The FIR names Santosh Kumar as an accused, and also includes two to three unidentified persons.

Following the registration of the FIR, the police proceeded with the investigation using technical and scientific evidence. During the course of the inquiry, the police uncovered information regarding the mother's romantic affair and the alleged conspiracy surrounding the murder. According to Piro SDPO Kanhaiya Kumar, preliminary investigations have revealed that the deceased’s mother, Manti Devi, was in a romantic relationship with a man from the same village named Santosh Kumar. Mohit Raj opposed this relationship.

It has been reported that this often led to disputes within the household. The police state that, due to this opposition, Santosh Kumar—at the behest of Manti Devi—carried out the murder of Mohit Raj with the help of his associates.

Following the registration of an FIR, the police took swift action and arrested the deceased’s mother, Manti Devi. She is currently being interrogated to uncover further details regarding the case.

Meanwhile, the police are conducting continuous raids to apprehend the named accused, Santosh Kumar, and other suspects. Efforts are also underway to identify others involved in the murder and to determine their specific roles.

Investigation based on technical and scientific evidence: According to police officials, the investigation relied on technical and scientific evidence. The police examined the crime scene, the movements of the deceased, and various aspects linked to the accused.

Based on facts uncovered during the investigation, the police arrested the deceased’s mother. Authorities state that a clear picture of the entire conspiracy and the sequence of events will emerge once all those involved in the case have been arrested.

Piro SDPO Kanhaiya Kumar stated that the police investigation is ongoing. The deceased’s mother has been arrested, and raids are being conducted at various potential hideouts to apprehend the named accused, Santosh Kumar, and other suspects.
