ARA--------------------------A sense of vulnerability and fear has gripped the commercial hub of Haradiya Bazaar in Ward No. 10 under the Jagdishpur police station jurisdiction in Bhojpur district. Late Sunday night, a gang of unidentified burglars executed a meticulously planned break-in at Ravi Jewellers and Utensil Shop, stealing silver, gold, cash, and ceremonial utensils estimated at nearly ₹2.5 lakh.

Demonstrating audacious physical strength and planning, the perpetrators broke open the main storefront shutter, unbolted and uprooted a heavy steel Godrej almirah from inside the shop, carried it over 300 meters into a nearby orchard, smashed it open to plunder its contents, and abandoned the stripped safe on the ground.

The incident has sparked public outrage across the merchant community in Jagdishpur, raising serious questions regarding the efficacy of police night patrolling and local security arrangements.

The burglary was executed under cover of dark, taking advantage of deserted streets and inadequate night security in the commercial belt.

Unidentified miscreants arrived at Haradiya Bazaar during the late night hours. Armed with break-in tools, they severed the primary padlocks and forcibly pried open the metal shutter of Ravi Jewellers and Utensil Shop without alerting nearby residents.

Once inside, the burglars bypassed lighter counters and targeted the main secure storage—a heavy steel Godrej almirah. The gang physically lifted and moved the bulky safe out of the store, lugging it through the market area for approximately 300 yards (meters) into an isolated fruit orchard.

Hidden from public view within the orchard, the criminals used heavy implements to crack open the safe, stripped it of all high-value ornaments and cash, and left the destroyed steel frame behind before fleeing the scene.

The crime came to light early Monday morning when local villagers taking a morning walk noticed the forced shutter and damaged locks of the establishment. Recognizing the sign of a break-in, they immediately notified the store owner, Sanjay Soni.

Upon arriving at the scene, Soni found his establishment completely ransacked. An inventory of the missing items confirmed substantial financial losses totaling nearly ₹2.5 lakh:

Approximately 2.5 kg of silver items and jewelry. 10 to 12 grams of gold jewelry. ₹4,000 to ₹4,500 kept in the store's cash drawer.5 complete sets of ceremonial metal utensils.

Following a search of the surrounding periphery, local residents and police discovered the discarded Godrej almirah lying cracked open in the nearby orchard, empty of all valuables.

Upon receiving news of the major heist, a police team led by Jagdishpur Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ravi Kumar rushed to Haradiya Bazaar to secure the crime scene and direct investigative procedures.

Realizing the sophisticated nature of the burglary, police summoned a specialized Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) unit to the location. Forensic experts meticulously examined both the ransacked jewelry store and the discarded safe in the orchard, collecting latent fingerprints, tool mark impressions, and scientific evidence.

Investigators have begun seizing and auditing video footage from closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed along commercial structures and entry/exit routes leading into Haradiya Bazaar.

The police are analyzing camera feeds from the surrounding road networks to trace the entry route of the perpetrators and identify any vehicles used during their escape.

The burglary at Ravi Jewellers has triggered anger and resentment among traders and shopkeepers in Jagdishpur. Local business owners pointed out that this incident is not an isolated breach of security, but part of a troubling pattern of rising criminal activity in the immediate vicinity.

Business leaders noted that just one week prior to this heist, thieves had broken into a nearby betel (paan) shop in the same market, stealing inventory worth ₹30,000. The lack of a decisive police response following the earlier theft, traders argue, emboldened criminal elements to attempt an even larger operation against a jewelry establishment.

Traders have voiced criticism over the failure of night beat patrols, demanding to know how a group of criminals could carry a heavy steel almirah through market streets for 300 meters without encountering a single police officer or patrol unit.

In the wake of the incident, local merchant associations and community members convened to voice their concerns and present formal demands to district law enforcement authorities:

Traders have urged the Bhojpur police administration to deploy a specialized canine (dog) squad to track scent trails leading from the discarded safe in the orchard to identify the culprits.

Merchants are demanding fixed police pickets and intensified mobile patrolling throughout Haradiya Bazaar during overnight hours to protect commercial property.

Business owners have called for the immediate arrest of the burglary gang and full recovery of the stolen gold, silver, and cash assets.

The break-in at Haradiya Bazaar underscores the ongoing challenges facing local law enforcement in safeguarding commercial hubs across Bhojpur district. The brazen nature of the crime—where a heavy safe was uprooted and carried through public spaces—has highlighted gaps in night surveillance and police visibility.

As the FSL team analyzes collected physical evidence and SDPO Ravi Kumar's team reviews camera feeds, the pressure remains on the Jagdishpur police station to crack the case quickly, restore stolen property to Sanjay Soni, and rebuild public confidence among the business community in Bhojpur.
