ARA---------------------------The Bhojpur Cyber Police Station has uncovered a gang involved in cyber fraud through the use of 'mule' bank accounts—accounts opened specifically to facilitate illicit financial transactions. In connection with this, police have arrested Ajit Kumar Singh, a resident of Dularpur village under the jurisdiction of the Ara Mufassil Police Station. According to the police, the accused confessed during interrogation that he had provided bank accounts to a gang engaged in cyber fraud.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and Station House Officer (SHO) of the Cyber Police Station, Raushan Kumar, stated in a press release issued on Friday that details regarding a 'mule' account were provided to the Bhojpur Cyber Police Station by the CCSU (Cyber Crime Coordination Unit) in Patna for verification and further action. Following this, a formal entry (*sanha*) was recorded, and an investigation was initiated.

The investigation revealed that 12 complaints related to cybercrimes, originating from various states, were linked to a single Axis Bank account. This account was held jointly by Mahendra Kumar Singh and Ajit Kumar Singh, both residents of Dularpur village in the Ara Mufassil area.

Based on an application filed by the investigating officer, an FIR was registered at the Cyber Police Station on November 4, 2026. The police subsequently launched a probe using scientific and technical methods, which led to the arrest of Ajit Kumar Singh.

According to the police, Ajit Kumar Singh revealed during questioning that an individual had promised him significant earnings through online gaming. The person lured him into joining the gang, offering a 1.5 percent commission in exchange for opening and providing bank accounts.

Ajit explained that, along with his brother, he had opened a current account at the Jail Road branch of Axis Bank in the name of 'Harendra Real Estate Private Limited.' His brother’s mobile number was linked to this account. Later, all documents related to the account, along with the associated mobile number, were handed over to an individual named Krishna Murari. According to the police, Ajit revealed during questioning that he had been paid 1.5 lakh rupees as a commission in December 2025. The police are now investigating the involvement of others in the case, as well as the role played by Krishna Murari.

The special team constituted to investigate the matter included Cyber Police Station House Officer (SHO) Roshan Kumar, Police Inspector Rakesh Kumar Ranjan, Sub-Inspector (SI) Sheikh Rehan, Sub-Inspector (SI) Neeraj Kumar, and police personnel Lav Kumar Singh and Pankaj Kumar Singh.
