ARA--------------------------A tribute event was held at 'Shaheed Bhawan,' the Congress office in Ara, to mark the 42nd death anniversary (martyrdom day) of India’s first female Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna recipient, the late Indira Gandhi, and the 151st birth anniversary of the 'Iron Man' of India, Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Presided over by City President Shakti Singh Manan, the event saw Congress members pay heartfelt homage by offering garlands and flowers at the portraits of these two great figures. Speaking on the occasion, Congress Media In-charge Virendra Mishra stated that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, through her courageous leadership, firm willpower, and dedication to the nation, steered India toward a new path of development. She played a pivotal role in establishing a strong identity for India on the international stage. Meanwhile, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, through his remarkable foresight, indomitable courage, and unwavering resolve, made a historic contribution to the creation of a unified India by integrating hundreds of princely states.

He remarked that the sacrifice of Indira Gandhi and the nation-building contributions of Sardar Patel will always remain a source of inspiration for the people of the country. Throughout their lives, both great leaders prioritized the nation's unity, integrity, and sovereignty above all else. A strong and empowered India can only be built by embracing their ideas, ideals, and their spirit of dedication toward the nation. Taking aim at the Modi-led central government, the Media In-charge alleged that instead of giving due recognition to the historic contributions of these great figures, the government is busy making hollow claims about development—ignoring the fact that these two leaders played a crucial role in laying the robust foundation for modern India’s development and establishing the nation's prestige globally. He stated that their contributions to nation-building and their historic achievements can never be forgotten.

At the conclusion of the event, the Congress members present pledged to follow the path shown by these two great figures and to strengthen the nation's unity, integrity, social harmony, and democratic values. Those in attendance included Professor Nirmal Kumar Singh, Media In-charge Virendra Mishra, Rashid Imam Mintu, Chitranjan Munna, Youth Congress President Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, Manoj Kumar Anjani, Ashutosh Thakur, Ranjeet Yadav, Saket Tiwari, Shrikant Rai, Sandeep Kumar, Shrikant Pandey, Lalbabu Sah, Ramendra Kumar Mishra, Mohan Prasad Gupta, Ranjeet Kumar, and Arun Kumar Arun, along with dozens of other Congress members.
