ARA-------------------------A district-level workshop was held today at the Vidya Bhawan auditorium in Ara, aimed at the effective implementation of the 'PM Rahat' scheme. The workshop provided information on the procedures for ensuring prompt medical care for individuals injured in road accidents and strengthening coordination between relevant departments and hospitals.
It was explained that, under the provisions of the scheme, eligible road accident victims are entitled to cashless medical treatment—up to a maximum of ₹1.50 lakh per person—for a period of up to seven days from the date of the accident. Receiving appropriate medical care within the first hour following an accident—the 'Golden Hour'—significantly increases the chances of survival. Consequently, special emphasis was placed on the immediate transport of injured persons to a suitable hospital and the prompt initiation of treatment.
During the session, the technical procedures were outlined: hospitals are required to register the victim's details on the 'TMS 2.0' portal, while the police must verify the accident and the victim's identity through the 'iRAD/eDAR' system. The importance of timely verification, accurate entry of necessary details, and swift coordination with hospitals was highlighted.
The workshop underscored the need to ensure that emergency treatment is not delayed by administrative formalities, to maintain coordination between ambulance services and the 'Dial 112' emergency response system, and to conduct regular monitoring of pending cases. Furthermore, the necessity for widespread awareness campaigns to ensure the scheme reaches those in need, along with continuous dialogue between relevant officials and hospital representatives, was emphasized.
The workshop was attended by the Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) of Bhojpur, the Civil Surgeon, the District Transport Officer, the District Public Relations Officer, the Medical Officer-in-Charge, and representatives from 39 hospitals empanelled under the Ayushman scheme.
