PATNA--------------------------Very soon an interesting sight can be seen in the politics of Bihar, when two real brothers will be seen together in the Bihar Legislative Council. The big thing is that both the brothers will be seen representing different parties. At present, the arrival of these two brothers in the Legislative Council from different political parties has become a topic of discussion in the politics of Bihar.

Actually, RJD candidate from Patna teachers constituency, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar has registered a resounding victory in the MLC elections and defeated Naval Kishore Yadav of BJP. After registering victory, he will now sit in the House along with his elder brother and Congress MLC Rajeev Kumar.

In the MLC elections, Sanjeev Kumar got 4,487 votes, while 3,430 votes were cast in favor of Naval Kishore Yadav. With this victory, Sanjeev Kumar has confirmed his place in the Bihar Legislative Council. It is known that Dr. Sanjeev Kumar has a long association with the politics of Bihar. He has been JDU MLA from Parbatta assembly seat of Khagaria district.

Dr. Sanjeev had contested the 2025 assembly elections on RJD ticket but had to face defeat. Earlier in the year 2015, he had also contested the MLC election from Begusarai-Khagaria local authority constituency. However, he did not get success at that time.

Here, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar's elder brother Rajiv Kumar is already a member of Bihar Legislative Council. He had won from Begusarai-Khagaria Local Authority Constituency on Congress ticket in the year 2022. In that election he defeated BJP candidate Rajneesh Kumar. Now after the victory of Sanjeev Kumar, both the brothers will be seen together in the Legislative Council.

It is noteworthy that Ramanand Prasad Singh, father of Dr. Sanjeev Kumar and Rajeev Kumar, was elected MLA from Parbatta assembly constituency several times. He had also held the responsibility of minister in Bihar government. He died on May 10 last year. Now both his sons will be seen representing themselves in the Bihar Legislative Council from different political parties.
