ARA----------------------------In Rupbandh village, under the jurisdiction of the Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district, a man allegedly beat his own uncle to death with sticks and clubs following a family land dispute. The incident sent shockwaves through the area, drawing a large crowd of villagers to the scene. The deceased has been identified as 70-year-old Kashinath Singh, alias Kashi Yadav—son of the late Ramu Yadav and a resident of Rupbandh village. He was a farmer by profession and lived in the village with his family.

According to Khakhnu Singh, a cousin of the deceased, the family land had already been divided, with all brothers receiving an equal share. Despite this, the wife of the deceased’s brother kept telling her son that his uncle had taken about two 'kathas' of land in excess. This issue had been a source of ongoing tension and conflict within the family for several days. On Thursday afternoon, while the victim was in his field, his nephew, in a fit of rage, launched a brutal assault on him using sticks and clubs. Kashinath Singh was critically injured in the attack. According to villagers and family members, the assault was so brutal that he died on the spot. Upon learning of the incident, chaos erupted in the village, and his family members broke down in inconsolable grief.

Following the report, Station House Officer (SHO) Ashish Kumar Sah arrived at the scene with a police contingent and informed senior officials. Subsequently, the accused were identified based on forensic evidence and technical investigation. The police pursued the prime suspect, Sunil Yadav, and apprehended him after a chase spanning approximately two kilometers. His mother, Sahiya Devi, was also arrested.

During a press conference held at the Jagdishpur police station on Thursday evening, SDPO Ravi Kumar stated that two individuals—a mother and her son—have been arrested in connection with the case. The stick used in the assault has also been recovered. Preliminary investigations indicate that a dispute over a land lease was the motive behind the murder. Further details regarding the duration of the dispute and other related aspects are currently being gathered. The police are proceeding with further legal action in the matter.
