ARA-----------------------------A sensational incident occurred on Wednesday night in the Badi Mathiya locality—under the jurisdiction of the town police station—where a husband launched a life-threatening knife attack on his own wife. The woman sustained severe injuries, causing panic in the area. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation.
According to reports, the victim is 27-year-old Rakhi Kumari (also known as Nikita Kumari), wife of Pankaj Kumar Thakur, a resident of Bhakura village (under the Mufassil police station area). The couple had been living in a rented house in the Badi Mathiya locality.
The woman had recently visited her in-laws' home in Bhakura village. On Wednesday evening, her husband, Pankaj Kumar Thakur, brought her back to their rented residence in Badi Mathiya. That night, a dispute arose between the couple, leading the husband to fly into a rage and stab her repeatedly across various parts of her body.
It is reported that the accused inflicted multiple stab wounds on her back, both sides of her neck, both arms, her face, and her forehead. The woman collapsed, covered in blood. Alerted by the commotion, neighbors and family members rushed to the scene and immediately transported her to a private hospital in the city's Babu Bazar area for treatment.
Dr. Vikas Singh, the surgeon treating the victim, stated that she sustained deep knife wounds on her neck, back, face, and other parts of her body. The damaged areas have been repaired through surgery. Given her condition, she will remain under medical observation for the next 72 hours.
Town Police Station House Officer (SHO) Devraj Rai stated that an FIR has been registered against the accused, Pankaj Kumar Thakur, based on the statement provided by the victim's father, Manoj Kumar Thakur. Acting swiftly, the police have arrested the accused. However, the knife used in the incident has not yet been recovered.
