ARA----------------------------A dispute has arisen following the death of a 60-year-old man in the Bhaluhipur neighborhood, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Town Police Station in Ara. The deceased's wife has accused her in-laws of medical negligence. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police have launched an investigation.
According to reports, Shatrughna Prasad—son of the late Siddhnath Prasad and a resident of Bhaluhipur—suddenly complained of severe abdominal pain on October 14. His family members admitted him to the Ara Sadar Hospital for treatment. As his condition became critical, doctors referred him to Patna on October 15.
The family first took him to PMCH (Patna Medical College and Hospital), from where he was subsequently moved to a private hospital in Patna for better care. He passed away on Wednesday night while undergoing treatment. His body was later brought back to his home in Ara.
The deceased's wife has alleged that other family members were negligent regarding his medical care, which led to her husband's death. Acting on her complaint, the local police have taken the matter seriously and initiated an investigation.
Upon being notified, the Town Police arrived at the scene, took custody of the body, and sent it to the Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination. A preliminary death review report prepared by the police suggests that the death occurred due to an illness during the course of medical treatment. However, the exact cause of death will only be determined once the post-mortem report is available.
The deceased is survived by his wife, three daughters—Naina, Simran, and Chhoti—and a son, Tejas. The family is in a state of deep mourning, and his relatives are inconsolable.
