DIRECTIVES FOR SALE OF FIRECRACKERS

ARA--------------------------In the interest of public safety, environmental protection, and the maintenance of law and order during the Diwali and Chhath festivals, the District Magistrate of Bhojpur, Manesh Kumar Meena, has issued necessary guidelines concerning the manufacturing, storage, sale, and use of firecrackers.

According to the issued directives, firecrackers may only be sold by licensed vendors. The sale of firecrackers without a valid license, the trading of foreign or Chinese-made firecrackers, and the sale of firecrackers via online platforms are strictly prohibited. Firecrackers may only be used between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM.

It is mandatory to have all necessary fire safety arrangements in place at firecracker shops and storage sites. Shopkeepers must provide fire extinguishers and sand, and ensure compliance with established safety standards and explosives regulations.

The District Administration has authorized the Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) of Sadar Ara, Jagdishpur, and Piro to issue temporary licenses for the sale of firecrackers, following the necessary inspections. The respective Sub-Divisional Officers and Sub-Divisional Police Officers will identify safe, open spaces within their jurisdictions and allocate these locations to the vendors.

The District Magistrate has instructed all relevant officials to ensure strict adherence to these guidelines and to take stringent action—in accordance with the law—against any illegal sale, storage, or violation of the rules.

The District Administration has appealed to the public to celebrate Diwali and Chhath in a safe and peaceful manner, in compliance with the established guidelines, and to extend their cooperation to the administration.
