PATNA-------------------------A controversy is deepening regarding the recruitment for various positions within the Bihar Legislative Council. Amidst allegations of irregularities in the hiring process, the Council Secretariat has taken a major step: on Friday, approximately 100 employees were barred from entering the Legislative Council premises or performing their duties. This decision has caused significant distress and confusion among the affected staff.
According to reports, questions have been raised regarding the recruitment for several roles, including stenographers, personal assistants, and marshals. It is understood that the selected candidates had been issued joining letters, which they subsequently submitted to the office; however, it has emerged that none of these individuals’ formal joining has been officially accepted.
Most alarmingly, these employees claim to have been reporting for work and marking their attendance for the past three months. It is alleged, however, that their attendance was not recorded in the official register; instead, they were required to sign on plain sheets of paper.
The latest decision by the Council Secretariat has further escalated the gravity of the situation. Employees who had been permitted to work until now have suddenly been denied entry to the premises. This has raised serious questions regarding the recruitment process, the validity of the joining letters, and the methods used to record attendance. The primary questions now are: why were these employees not formally inducted into their roles despite having received joining letters? On what basis was their attendance being recorded for the past three months? And what is the reason behind the sudden decision to bar these 100 employees from the premises
Demands for transparency and accountability regarding these recruitments are likely to intensify. A clear picture of the situation will only emerge once the Council Secretariat provides its official stance and the documents pertaining to the recruitment process are made public.
