ARA----------------------------A new organisation, named Bharat Tiwari Sangharsh Vahini, has been formed to intensify the fight for justice in the controversial death of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari in a police encounter in Bhojpur district. The organisation also aims to support other victims and families who are struggling for justice.
The announcement was made at a press conference in Patna on Thursday. Bharat Tiwari's mother, Asha Devi, announced the formation of the organisation and named Ajit Singh as its president.
Addressing the media, Asha Devi expressed disappointment over the delay in justice for her son. She said that despite assurances from Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, the accused had not been arrested and the family was still waiting for concrete action. She alleged that the investigation had not produced satisfactory results.
Ajit Singh said that justice delayed amounts to injustice. He stated that the organisation would not limit its activities to Bharat Tiwari's case but would extend support to families facing injustice across the country.
The case relates to the death of 28-year-old Bharat Bhushan Tiwari, a resident of Bilauti village under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district. He was shot during a police operation on June 17, 2026, following a prolonged standoff and later died while undergoing treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain controversial, with the family questioning the police version of events. The state government ordered a judicial inquiry, and police personnel have also faced legal action in connection with the case.
Asha Devi said she would once again approach the Chief Minister to demand justice and ensure accountability. The formation of the organisation is being seen as an effort to give a stronger and more organised voice to the family's continuing struggle.
